Domenica Fossati
Teaching Artist
Domenica Fossati is irrepressibly funky flutist, recording artist, and educator currently living in Brooklyn, NY. Influenced by a wide range of styles including jazz, rock, and hip-hop, her work oscillates gracefully between art music and pop. She has worked with some of today’s leading players in jazz and popular music including Marc Ribot, Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, and members of Snarky Puppy, and has won a Latin Grammy for her performance in Mariachi Flor de Toloache’s 2018 album, “Las Caras Lindas.” An electrifying performer, Domenica Fossati is the front-woman of the neo-afrobeat group, Underground System, an ensemble who has become a fixture in New York’s music scene following their 2018 release of What Are You (Soul Clap Records). An advocate for music education, Domenica is a teaching artist with several outreach music programs for at-risk children.
